So when we say we are looking for a Visual Communications Designer, yes, you will be designing elegant marketing and education materials for both internal and external purposes, but you’ll also be informing the very fabric of our brand identity - building and transforming the look and feel of our company every day.
Work with company members to compose beautiful and easy-to-understand visual communication materials for clients such as one-pagers, booklets, educational guides & documentation.
Strategize with the Marketing and Communications team to further develop company brand identity by developing visually stunning presentations, social media campaigns, webpage, and print marketing materials.
Illustrate, animate, and edit fun and informative video communications for education and documentation purposes, culture building, and media engagement.
Work with team members to intelligently transform written content requests into compelling visual stories by employing a deep understanding of information architecture for various mediums (on-page digital content, website architecture, print layouts, data visualization, etc.)
Exhibit well-rounded knowledge of visual design software and/or excitement to learn new design technologies including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva (for digital and print design, video animation, etc.), Miro (for visual diagramming), Figma (for website-based visual design), etc.
Are a storyteller at your core and believe in the power of aesthetics and good design as invaluable tools for creating meaningful and informative experiences.
Are excited to help build something from the ground up - you take pleasure in not just designing creative artifacts, but in progressing a brand.
Like variety in your work - you don’t feel comfortable designing emails all day - you want to flex all your creative muscles on the regular.
Enjoy experimenting with new and different mediums and software to compose content.
Are positive and enthusiastic about creating incredible, next-level content, but you’re also realistic and can accurately gauge time allotment and feasibility when projects are requested of the team.
Feel comfortable and encouraged by an autonomous working environment but you are also down to spend some time strategizing with a team.
Are detailed-oriented and you strive to build beautiful, clean content, but never sacrifice getting something done for the sake of making something “perfect.”
Don’t like lending your talents to multiple efforts between multiple projects at once.
Lean towards absolute perfection rather than product completion.
Prefer to have a deadset structure about your work and are unwilling to pivot when necessary.
Aren’t comfortable with receiving or giving constructive criticism.
Our ideal candidate is going to hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 2 years of experience designing for web and/or print communications. The candidate should also have illustration and animation experience.
